Here, they believe in the importance of being outdoors and how physical activity has an affect on a person’s life. And Mountain Challenge isn’t limited to only students, but it is open to corporate groups and other parties as well. Camp 4 is an outdoor program hosted at Maryville College every Wednesday!

Crawford House was built as a residence in 1876. It now houses the College’s Mountain Challenge program and an impressive Alpine (climbing) Tower behind the house. Renovations completed in 2013 led to a LEED® Gold certification. It’s the oldest building in Tennessee to receive this designation.

Most building projects today include green considerations into their floor plans as environmental concerns continue to grow. But what if you want to bring a house built in the 1800s up to today's standard of living green? At Maryville College in east Tennessee, a group of environmentally conscious students and leaders found out that the hard work needed to embark on such a monumental task is well worth the trouble. Maryville College's Mountain Challenge program celebrates its 25th anniversary at the historic Crawford House, newly LEED Gold certified, located on Maryville College campus. The Mountain Challenge outdoor program is one of the oldest and one of the leading programs of its kind in the South East.
