Solar

Our solar array is 3.8 kW DC/7.6 kWAC with an 18 kWh battery. The solar plus storage provides Crawford House with the capacity to meet 100% of its energy needs with clean, renewable energy. The solar energy not used when it is produced can be stored for use at night or during overcast weather conditions. The photovoltaic system at this LEED Gold facility continues a legacy of environmental stewardship by producing enough solar energy annually to offset 2.8 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. This is equivalent to:

- carbon sequestered by 46 tree seedlings over a decade

- or emissions from 7,119 miles driven annually by a gas-powered vehicle,

- or emissions from burning 3,068 pounds of coal,

or emissions from charging 183,768 smartphones.​
